About Frédéric Daty

Born in 1970 in Lyon-France, Frédéric Daty graduated from the Brassart School of Graphic Art and Design in Tours. He started his career in advertising in Paris as an art director for publicity campaigns, notably for Givenchy, Dior, Infogrames video games, Gaumont...
In 2000, he decided to breakaway from his life and give up everything to move to Canada. With his mechanic’s tools in hand, he concretized his creative ideas. He created in his own home in Ottawa « Le Petit Salon des Arts », a gallery-lounge, and surrounded himself with other artists, creating a hub of ideas. The events were called « Emergence » and allowed him to test his paintings and sculptures in the Canadian capital.
Moving back to France, he locked himself up in his workshop in Chartres to create his wall sculptures: a vision of the world, with a double face, between the city and the countryside, loneliness and mad frenzy, rigor and fantasy, fullness and emptiness, light and shadow...
He now exhibits his wall sculptures in galleries in Europe and select art fairs.
